It is perfectly clear that the total count of mistakes you happen to make in poker directly affects your overall rate of winning.

The fewer the mistakes, the better. The question is, are they all equal?

Poker is one game largely bossed by luck that is short-term. It's true, in the long run; all good players are going to win, then all the bad players end up losing. However, luck is in no doubt involved.

Players can regularly make blunders without even knowing that they are in essence errors. They can make quite a number in a hand, yet still end up winning the pot, due to luck's influence on the game's outcome.

Small Mistakes: It is simply in the Frequency

The major difference between the small and big mistakes is huge. Take for instance, that every time you happen to flop quads, you follow a weird strategy of simply open-shoving regardless of the pot size.

They are mistakes likely to happen each single orbit you happen to sit at the poker table, and they usually drastically affect the rate of winning for each session. This makes it very difficult to become a long term winning player.

Mistakes can compound.

A big mistake example (which might initially seem like a small mistake) would be calling raises regularly while you are out of position, and the hands you have are dominated.

If this is your mistake, it does not matter how attractive the remaining part of your game happens to look like; you simply are not going to be a winner player. Playing with any worse hand when you are not in position is one big obstacle to overcome.

You will just be put into a series of difficult spots that all your mistakes will compound, leading to you throwing away money each time you play. Calling excessively is another big mistake example.

Since they are throwing away money almost every hand, they will never be concrete winners unless they change the behavior.

Small Mistakes: Keeping a player from winning maximally

Never is there a poker player who is immune to mistakes altogether.

A good number of players have their “leaks” in regard to their game- things they can actually do better.

Examples of the small mistakes include failure to value bet the river maximally while in position, or maybe calling very many raises while pocket pairs are low.

Incase you do not value bet this river enough, that simply means you are never going to get check-raised.

In the end, it means you simply leave cash on the table.

If you happen to call excessively with your small pocket pairs, even if you will occasionally stack someone you will just be bleeding cash in the long run.

On their own, mistakes will not prevent you from becoming a winning player- only that you will not be that full winner you could be. In short, each single mistake affects your win rate.

Some of the mistakes are way too big that it really does not matter how beautifully the rest of your game goes; you always remain one break-even player or simply a losing one. Small mistakes are ones you can make and fix always.

They might cost you a small fraction of the bet each time, but all in all the more you make, the more difficult it becomes to stay profitable.
